Stage 8 - Le Grand-Bornand > Tignes

Stage 8 travels from Le Grand-Bornand in the Haute Savoie to Tignes in the Savoie.

Over 165 kilometers there will be 6 different climbs which culminate in a mountain top finish in Tignes. The peleton will travel through the Haute-Savoie for the first 45 km, or so, and then enter the Savoie near the top of the Col de Tamie.

Le Grand-Bornand

Tignes

pastedgraphic-4_textmedium Tignes is interesting due to the fact that the original town was moved to make way for a hydroelectric project. The old town was "sunk" in 1952.
